It's ironic but appropriate that Sen. John McCain's pivotal campaign moment tonight is in a city known for country-music troubadours of last chances.
Democrat Barack Obama says middle-class tax cuts are "absolutely necessary" for an economy that could be sliding into recession.
Did the Alaska governor convince you of her VP credentials
Obviously all of the candidates are technically qualified to run. If you sort through the rhetoric and glib remarks you discover that flip-flopping for a Republican is somehow called a maverick. The mantra of saying no to taxes and getting things done is a simple oxymoron. It costs money for the government to get things done and last time I checked, the only source of money for the government is taxes. I agree with basic Republican principles but whatever they have been doing is not getting the results we need. Either they do not work or they are being poorly applied. McSame is making all the same promises we hear every campaign and using gimmicks to try to win the election. It is clear that passions run deep on both sides. I just pray that gullibility does not prevail where hoping that a different result will be achieved by more of the same because Republicans convince voters to suspend reality for some sort of faith in principles.
